These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They exist so you can judge whether to trust what you read here.

Independence

No brand can buy a recommendation on this site. We do not accept payment for coverage, for a place in a ranking, or for a positive tone. We earn money through affiliate commission, which pays the same regardless of which product we recommend — so we have no reason to steer you.

How we research

  • We start from what a real room needs, not from a list of products a retailer wants to move.
  • We compare specifications, materials and long-term owner reviews, not just launch-day coverage.
  • We prefer durability, repairability and honest value over novelty.
  • Where we have used something ourselves, we say so. Where we have not, we do not pretend otherwise.

Recommendations

Every guide names a clear best choice and explains the trade-off, including who should not buy it. If the cheap option is good enough, we say so. If nothing in a category is worth buying yet, we are willing to say that too.

Prices

Prices change constantly, so we show when a price was last checked and always link to the retailer for the current figure. We never present an out-of-date price as if it were live.

Disclosure

Affiliate links are labelled with the standard sponsored attribute and every article that contains them carries a visible disclosure. Our full explanation is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

AI use

We use AI tools to help with research, outlining and first drafts. Every published article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a person, who is accountable for it. We do not publish unreviewed machine output.

Corrections

We fix mistakes rather than quietly deleting them. If a correction changes the substance of a piece we note it in the article. Spotted an error? Email hello@aestheticpantry.com and we will look at it promptly.

Updates

Buying guides are revisited as products are discontinued or replaced. The date at the top of each article reflects its most recent substantive review.
